A Celebration of Black Mountain College 2020: Panel Discussion

Arts at Queens and Sphere Series present a panel discussion exploring the history of arts education through the lens of the revolutionary curriculum and approach to learning that came out of Black Mountain College (1933-1957) of North Carolina. Based on John Dewey’s principles of progressive education, the college was founded at the time of the Great Depression in the US, the rise of the Nazis, the closing of the Bauhaus School in Germany, and the beginning of the persecution of artists and intellectuals in Europe.
