Black Mountain College 2020: A Panel Discussion moderated by Siu Challons-Lipton
A panel discussion exploring the history of arts education through the lens of the revolutionary curriculum at Black Mountain College (1933-1957) of North Carolina. The college was founded at the time of the Great Depression in the US, the rise of the Nazis, the closing of the Bauhaus School in Germany, and the beginning of the persecution of artists and intellectuals in Europe. After the panel discussion there will be a performance written by Queens students, inspired by John Cage. Sponsored by Arts at Queens and Sphere Series.
