Carl Orff's “Carmina Burana” is one of the most famous piece of classical music ever written with a thundering opening and closing movements. Join Dr. Justin Smith, Director of Choral Activities, for a guided listening tour through this thundering masterpiece, as we investigate what makes it an enduring work of musical drama, beauty and emotion. No prior musical training required - all welcome!
This is a two-part event and the conversation will continue on Thursday, Sept. 24. Queens choirs will also perform this work live, in collaboration with the Charlotte Master Chorale, on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
