Duke Ellington's SACRED CONCERTS
"Every time God's children have thrown away fear in pursuit of honesty - trying to communicate themselves, understood or not - miracles have happened. Every man prays in his own language, and there is no language that God does not understand."
So wrote Duke Ellington about his magnificent set of Sacred Concerts, composed near the end of his life as a summative statement of his life and work. Queens Choirs collaborates with dancers, singers and instrumentalists to perform this seldom-heard masterpiece of American music.
