##concert, #BIPOC, #vidaquartet, #music, #classical, #chambermusic, #CLT, #queensuniversity, #artsatqueens,Pianist Yu-Ling Chen and the Vida Quartet will perform music by BIPOC composers including William Grant Still Jr., Astor Piazzola, and Florence Price. Vida Strings combines their international performing expertise with music education, and creative and expressive art therapy to provide unique musical experiences.
Queens University of Charlotte assistant professor Yu-Ling Chen is a board-certified music therapist and an accomplished pianist. In addition to performing with the Vida Quartet and the Queens Community Choir, she has performed at Southwestern State University where she previously taught, and was the pianist for Dr. Matthew Tracy's, Fantasy Pieces.
This concert is a special fundraiser for the newly established Dr. Frances J. McClain Music Therapy Students of Color Award. Donations will be accepted at the concert.
Admission is FREE and open to the public.
