About this Event
Join Queens alumni for live virtual conversations on Living Our Common Values. Professors and alumni will join us to facilitate a dialogue on how we, as Queens alumni, are living out the institutional values we shared as students: Integrity, Respect, Creativity, Innovation, Stewardship and Service. Space for attendance is limited, so reserve your place now.
Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 6pm – 8pm EST: Integrity and Respect: How do our character, thoughts, and beliefs impact the way we show up in our lives? What does it mean to live with integrity? How do we demonstrate respect? Dr. Michele Shaul, director of the Center for Latino Studies and a professor of Spanish at Queens, will join us for this dialogue.
Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 6pm – 8pm EST: Creativity and Innovation: How do we put thoughts into action? What holds us back from nurturing innovative ideas into reality? What does creativity mean to you? Alumnus and author, Armah Shiancoe ’09, will join us for this dialogue.
Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 6pm – 8pm EST: Stewardship and Service: What does it mean to be a steward? Do you see yourself as being of service to others? How do our beliefs inform our thoughts, which inform our actions? Joey Haynes ’11, alumnus and Queens’ Chaplain will join us for this dialogue.
