Martha Redbone Roots Project
Martha Redbone is a Native & African-American vocalist, songwriter, composer and educator. She is known for fusing her Harlan County childhood’s gospel, blues and folk with the diverse character of pre-gentrified Brooklyn. Redbone brings her own experience as a native and black woman and mother to her storytelling, shedding light on issues of social justice, recontextualizing traditions, bridging cultures, and celebrating what it means to be human in the new millennium.
