White Fragility Book Discussion
For too long white people have avoided honestly dicussing the ways in which they contribute to the racial oppression in our country. In her book, White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism, Dr. Robin DiAngelo invites us to take a look at white behaviors that sustain racial inequality and prevent meaningful dialogue and movement toward a more just society. Led by the Stan Greenspon Center in partnership with the Queens Department of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement, that is exaclty what we will do!
Whether you are already involved in this work, are brand new to this idea, or are skeptical about the reality of white privilege, you are welcome to this dicusssion. All that we ask is that you arrive ready to share and listen.
Once you register, you will receive a timeline with reading goals for each session as well as additional resources to use as we work through the book. Please register by contacting Donna Tarney at tarneyd@queens.edu
